The brand will showcase its latest men’s and women’s collections, created under the guidance of its newly appointed creative head and former J Crew head of design, Marissa Webb, on February 14, 2015. Primarily known for its workwear, the brand will join the esteemed line-up, comprising key international fashion heavyweights including Coach, Hugo Boss, denim brand G-Star and the Project Runway participant Michael Costello, of the event, which is slated to take place from February 12 to 19, 2015. In addition to new designer label entries, the week-long semi-annual showcase will also see some major changes in the coming months. The soiree will host its upcoming February, 2015 edition for the last time in its most favoured location of past four years, Lincoln Center. Also, the event will be no longer known as Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week as the vehicle company is ending its title sponsorship soon after the completion of forthcoming February month’s fall season calendar. The soiree will be re-christened as New York Fashion Week (NYFW) later. Currently, the German automobile manufacturer Mercedes-Benz supports over 50 fashion engagements in 30 countries. Founded in 1978, Banana Republic is a mainstream luxury clothing retailer, which owns over 600 stores worldwide. The company is a separate business division operated by the California-based largest specialty apparel retailer The Gap, Inc. © 2015 gracieson |
