Moon Over Sangker (1)A Poem by Gracia PerdiguerraThe River Sanker [Stung Sangker] will be the central theme of my collection of poems for Battambang, Cambodia. It is still in its formative stage-- feel free to help me work on this project.
Carefully now
the moon's steady hand scrapes the surface with the easel wounding the light with colors cut from uneasy shade. Sharp collage of arms resting heavy on turbid waves, slowly push the new moon-- out the womb. Tonight Sangker cries, Rocks crushed by the turbulence
carve the river banks. The night is captured on ethereal frame heaving with the weight of light-- falling. © 2014 Gracia Perdiguerra |
