The Mystery

The Mystery

A Poem by Grace Elizabeth Fleming
"

from "Still Small Voice"

"
What does the sea know?
What do I?
A vastness
Dark as the sun is bright
Seeps
Between the atoms of time
Into the Mystery
Some things
Are too big to behold
Too deep to fathom
Too close to the hand
Of God
To fit behind flesh
And comprehension
Veined
By the road not paved
We all flow to the heart
Of where time fails
Reason recedes
Knowledge ends
And something else
Flickers
To life

A excellent poem. Your words are true. Hard to understand the ocean. I crossed her in large ships. After the journey. I knew less.
"Some things
Are too big to behold
Too deep to fathom"
A very strong ending to a excellent poem.
