The Last Summers Night

The Last Summers Night

A Poem by Grace Revell

I watched the sunset with you on a summers night
and as it disappeared behind the hills
you cried onto my shoulder
tears escaping your
honey brown
eyes.

And
when the
darkness approached
you grabbed my hand and
kissed my neck, determined not to
let me forget your presence. As if I could.

I stroked my hand through your hair, grabbing your neck
you laughed and grabbed my waist, pulling
me closer with every breath.When
you whispered my name, I
melted beneath your
fingertips.

I felt the
indents of your
chest and pulled at your
shirt, tugging violently, desperate to
feel you beneath me. I had nothing to loose and
everything to win, and baby this will never happen again.
