Hawaii

Hawaii

A Poem by grace.emily

Hawaii

I step off the plane and the cool breeze hits my face,
I am happy to leave the burning heat,
The smell of flowers hits my nose,
and I hear the caw of foreign birds.
I wait in baggage claim for the car to pull up,
I step in and put in my headphones,
I listen to songs I have heard a million times as we pass the trees,
We pass the fields,
We pass the ocean,
And I know I am home.
Twenty minutes pass.
We have arrived at the tunnel of trees and the world is shed in green,
It's darker but still beautiful,
We come out on the other side and I see the ocean.
Blue and green.
Calling my name.
I roll down the window and I smell the sea breeze,
I hear the laughter of children and bright kites come into my vision.
I am very happy to see the world again with new eyes.
I am happy to be home.

Wonderful write on sweet home.
I felt like coming with you for the detailed description.
There are few typos.You may love to check them:
1."......I sea the ocean."----> see
2."I roll down the widow........"----->window
