Chapter 17:

Dazed, I stepped back and prepared to run away. Looking up my eyes locked on cold, blue eyes.

“I am so sorry m’lady. Are you hurt?” The man grabbed my arm to steady me.

“Yeah I’m ok.” I removed my arm from his grip.

“Oh good.” The man let out an exaggerated breath. “Again I apologize.”

“I promise it was my fault. I was the one not paying attention to where I was going.”

“What is your name? If you don’t mind me asking.”

“Kate.”

“I’m gonna call you Kat. Fine with you?”

“Haha yeah I like it. And your name?”

“Gael Carey, at your service.”

“Nice to meet you Gael.”

“I don’t think I got your last name.”

“That’s because you didn’t.” I said smirking. “Williams, the alleged “Chosen One” but I promise I will spare your life haha.”

Gael didn’t laugh with me but stared at me incredulous.

“What?”

He grabbed my hand and kissed it.

“Miss Kate I am very sorry for running into you and making fun of your name please forgive me.”

“Stop! Please call me Kat and don’t apologize to me ever again ok?”

“Whatever you wish.”

“Ugh… Do not treat me like royalty. I am just like you a person. So stop being like that or I’m leaving.”

“Wait you don’t want me to treat you like royalty?”

“God no.”

“Ok…Kat.”

“That’s better.”

“So Kat what are you doing up so early anyways?”

“I could ask you the same thing.”

“True, well I’m going to train in the gym for a couple of hours. So what are you doing?”

“Training you say?” I provoked him.

“Oh yeah its great I practice my sword fighting, lifts, running, and my favorite is jousting with Alec.”

“Fun!”

“I could train you!! So you know how to fight when people run into you.” He said chuckling, totally forgetting I avoided his question.

“Sounds great when do you want to start?”

“How about now and we’ll keep going until breakfast?”

“Sure.”

We headed down the hallway Isabella went down and came to a tall, windowless, steel door. Gael took out his keycard and was scanned then entered the room waiting for me on the other side. I took out my keycard and was scanned then I entered. Gael startled me by flinging a sword at me. Surprisingly I caught it like a pro.

 

“So you lied. You have sword fighted before?”

“No I’ve never done it in my life.”

“I guess we’ll see about that.”

He plucked a sword off the wall and circled me. I kept my eyes on him and then he sprung at me. I blocked him and then jabbed at him. It reflected off his sword and flew in the air. Snickering he came at me. I did a front flip and grabbed my sword off the floor. He tried to surprise me by coming up behind me but I ducked and pierced his armor right where his heart was. He inhaled deeply and kicked my feet out from under of me. He stood up and pounced on me his sword held high. I rolled and he tripped landing on top of me. Breathing hard I looked in his eyes. He leaned in and my stomach was full of butterflies. He put his mouth next to my ear and said “Kat your beautiful when you fight.” He lifted his head up and smiled. I was afraid I would melt right there if he kissed me.

 

All of a sudden the door crashed open and in the doorway stood Isabella.
