Chapter 11:A Chapter by Melissa AshleyShe was floating above the ground. Walking over
to her I waved my hand over her body trying to find strings or some magic
trick. Not finding any I imagined her slowly being laid on the ground. To my
amazement I watched as invisible hands laid her down on the ground. I jumped
excitedly. I had got my powers back
myself without Joel. I thought smugly, I
would die to see his face right now. I heard rustling as the girl moved. Scolding
myself on forgetting about the girl I hurried over and sat beside her, pulling
her head onto my lap and caressing her forehead. Her eyelids fluttered open. She didn’t move for a few seconds but
when she actually registered me she jumped up and ran behind a tree. “What happened?” She peeked behind the tree still looking
frightened. “Please tell me.” She cautiously moved out from behind the tree. “What did you do to my body?” “It’s called a memory prodder. I just poked
inside your mind.” “What did you see?” “I saw your darkest thought and power.” She
shuddered at the memory. “And? What is it?” Looking uncomfortable she fidgeted with her
top. “I will not share your darkest memory but if
you really want to know your power it would be my pleasure.” “Yes, would you please?” “What I saw is very important you can’t just go
around using it.” “I promise I won’t.” “Kate, I care about you. I saw great things
going to happen because of you, but also great tragedies,” Looking nervous she
continued, “Kate you are destined to have great power over man. You can control
and kill just by thinking it.” Astonished I sat down. That’s why I stopped her from falling because she triggered my power
that was deep inside of me. Just think if I would have thought kill her quickly
instead of suffering she would be dead right now. © 2016 Melissa Ashley |
