Chapter 5A Chapter by Melissa AshleyA different woman came to take me to my room. “Where’s Deloris?” “She felt ill.” The woman murmured not meeting
my eyes. “Don’t worry I’m not going to hurt you I forget
how to use my ability I haven’t used it in sixteen years.” I reassured her. She
visibly relaxed but looked surprised. Not saying anything she took me to my
room and nodded. After I went in I heard the lock shut and her quiet footsteps
fade away. I was bewildered by the news just now letting it sink into my brain.
So my dad is dead and my mom is around here somewhere. I wonder what she looks like now? Does she miss me? Is she watching me
now? I looked around for any signs of cameras. Finding none I started to
look around. I had my own bathroom, a single bed, and a tiny closet. I tiredly
stumbled to my bed. I lay there looking at the white walls. I’m going to ask to paint my room. As I
sat there thinking about what color I’d paint it I fell asleep. I woke up to my stomach growling. A faint
laughter sounded from somewhere near the corner of the room. I sat up groggily,
in the corner sat Joel. “Joel!” I didn’t have any other words to say. “I was going to wake you but you look so
peaceful when you sleep that I felt like I was back in the prison cell.” "Oh,
well..."I stammered still surprised.
"Do you want to go get
breakfast?" My stomach answered him. He chuckled.
"Alright then.” © 2016 Melissa Ashley |
