Broken Glass

This poem is about my daddy who's been in and out my life, All my life. He's been in prison for the past 9years.

Broken Glass

where were you

when I needed you in my life?

when I needed your hugs and kisses?

where were you? Gone.

when I needed somebody to lean on

and help me when I was sick?

Where were you?

when I got hurt over and over and over again?

When I needed you, you were never there.

Its’ almost like it was a pattern

You’d come back in my life and leave again

First time I let you win, this time I WIN!!

At least that’s what I thought.

You left again. You lied.

But somehow i always love the way you lie

LOOK!!! My heart is broken all over the place now

You shattered my heart like broken glass

OMG!!  Look it’s a mess all over the place

You win. Once again you win

Broken glass can be replaced, but it’s never the same again.

You ripped my heart and dropped it on the floor

But I refuse to remain broken by your lies.
