wagoners lad

wagoners lad

A Poem by cloakedone
"

this was actually based on a song ,that i really love, and i just had so much fun making it! the song was wagoners lad by Rosemary Standley and it gave me much inspiration .

"
he may not enter through our door he hasn't enough money
he's a poor wagoners lad and isn't made of gold
he may not court you haven't you been told?

is it such a crying shame that he works for his coin?
he may love me whether we be torn
he may be but a wagoners lad ,but he is love for sworn

he may not be around  our lives and if you so are set
then off with you ,out the door and get out you wretch!

now he is off again and if he will not stay
then i will go with him and love him yes i'll say

he is a wagoners lad ,a man that makes his living
he may enter my heart and take my life
and enter my door he may

Hi cloakedone. I don't know the song, but I do recognize a good write. I loved this. It is so romantic and told in such a simple style that is so easy to follow. I will be reading more of your work!!!! alf
