Body's Need for Sleep

Body's Need for Sleep

A Poem by Felix Soto
"

I needed some sleep real bad

"
Eyes wandering into nothingness
Searching for the sun's shadow
Oxygen flowing within the body
In a rythmic pattern

Vison comes and go
Eyelids shut like steel doors
Blocking the reflective wavelengths
It is now total darkness

Sounds are soft and silencing
Only hearing gentle and rythmic breathing
Chest expanding with each breathe
Letting out carbon dioxide

Muscles are loose and weary
Not an ounce of fuel left
To lift oneself nor think
Only fragments of irreglar thought

Traveling into time's territory
Minutes transforms into hours
Enjoying every second of the darkness
Happiness comes when nothingness comes
