I Let Go

I Let Go

A Poem by gorillarock
"

Who needs it anyway?

"

I do not run, no need to hide
I am a man with peace of mind
with stress to bear
I have my share
it's unresolved and I don't care

my shoulders rest, free from the grind
I am a man with peace of mind
the weight still there
it's true, I swear
but without gravity, light as air

society stripped of all it's power
I've blocked it out, and now I flower
they fight with paper, ink, words so sour
but that wont stop me, it's my hour

no work for me, I'm not the kind
I am a man with peace of mind
just think, talk, and move
and go the mile
my living is made, cash, hand, and smile

you see, my friend? it's all a perspective
you live, you die, and be collective
food, water, rest, is all I find
and I am a man with peace of mind

Forget about money and material wealth. I wanted a simple style for this poem to help express the simplicity of life without material priority, a.k.a. the simplicity of life with peace of mind ;) Kind of Seuss, but I think his silly mind was inspired by things other than wealth, so I'm ok with that!

Thoughts?

A man with a piece of mind, reminds me of my gramps when he would sit in his favorite chair everyday. He looked very proud without a care in the world at age 90 n live to be 102 '96. thanks for sharing.

I like this sentiment – though I don’t know the context in which this poem is produced? As I read it, peace of mind is something not obtainable by material gains.

Let go is sometimes the best thing you could do...... I agree with the tone and sentiment :)

Peace of mind is the only thing that we can ever hope to achieve in this existence.

And we should strive for it.
