Gorgeous Day

Eastern Canada, March 1st, 2015

Gorgeous day!

The sun is out with gentle clouds, 

rustling the icy blanket of winter. 

It gently whispers "Wake up" 

to the still, dormant forest. 

Tiny buds may rest for now, 

but you can almost feel tree roots yawn before they start their springtime routine. 

Early birds eagerly seek their worms

and sing songs of frigid days gone by

Gorgeous day indeed!

Author's Note

The first nice day amid the hostile winter in early 2015. I made a description to post on social media for my friends to be inspired to get out, and realized how poetic it could become! Here is a more refined version in poetic format. What are your thoughts?
