The Evil Thing

The Evil Thing

A Poem by Damon Favreau

Vivisect me and rip out my brain,
Slice open my heart and fill me with pain.
Break all of my bones and make me fear,
Killing all that are near.
Feast upon my flesh,
Make me receive a lash.
Slowly cut my insides,
F***ing say your goodbyes.
Pull at the still-clinging nerves,
He's getting what he deserves.
Beat me and make me twitch,
Still not dead--head to the lynch.
The smell of rotting flesh fills the air,
Giving me pain I cannot bear.
Take out the love and put in hate,
Life for me is god*mn late.
All of this sh*t you enjoy,
Life to you is just a toy.

i like the cuss words...i think sometimes you need that, i dont cuss often but still i think in an essence the emotions play well with the words. but yes it can survive without the cuss words but you dont completely have to get rid of them.

i love the image of life being just a toy.
i think you should remove all the cuss words though,
they just deter the poem, and it flows better without them.
