Brass Unicorn

Brass Unicorn

A Poem by limbalring

my dad
my birthday
sunny shade
shadows
metal on shine

garage-given gift
tissue paper
covers innocence
like blankets
on dad
before he sleeps

ocean scent
making its way
into my senses
all of them captive
by sick currents

death scent
lingers on blankets
on tissues
his essence
still on metal
diffused
in brass hearts
locked in mine
