Ungrateful ones

Memories linger on

My lovely father

 A Symbol of sacrifice

Make even burning candle shy

Many mouths to feed

Hard task always ahead

Making both ends meet

Hadn’t heard him complain

What could be the matter!

Never was he this

Withdrawn in himself

Upset and hurt in silence

Unhappy he was, he said

Depressed and lost

Wished to talk

What went wrong!

Didn’t he care all!

Gave what they all need!

Ungrateful ones don’t care

Leave him lonely and lost

Life is such

Love we give all

Like we nurture plants

Watch them grow strong

No guarantee all plants

Yield flowers and fruits

After all care they get

Same is with humans

Pointing guilty fingers

You are no different

A wise one I thought

You are same too he said

Yes me too

 Thinking, I am on bank

A river flow like life

Watch all clear

Life, all flow alike

That’s how life is

Flowing we stop thinking

What else life after all!

I really appreciate your poem. I like the comparison you made with growing flowers, plants, fruits and growing kids! It is so much alike in a sense that whatever care and love we give, the result is never guarantied!
Thank you for your sensitive and beautifully put poem :)

Salam (peace) to you

We do take so much for granted in this small world, and as a race (the human race) where our time is always so short we lose sight of what is truly important. Very nice work.

This world needs such rationalists like you are, you wrapped it into poetic melancholic beauty and it was a breath of fresh air for me right now.

It is a shame how people take others in their life for granted. After all of a parent's hard work, there are no guarantees that their children will succeed in life, and until kids grow up, they've no idea what their parents sacrificed for them. Yes, life is very much like a river's flow.

Nicely done.

... a flowing river is life and we should look around and see others in that river which is flowing faster and faster and we should give them our friendship and support as we are all swiftly moved along to ... a wise write PAL

A very well written poem, like the color scheme. Thank you for sharing. Debileah

Speaking of the colours... I read them seperately and they almost are poems in themselves. Was that the point? I know some poets italicize to show to poems in it... was that what you were basically doing?

I've noticed in your poetry that you tend to shift colors between stanzas to offset them. Is there any particular reason behind the color choices, or does it just 'feel right' to you?
