Needing an Ending

Needing an Ending

A Poem by Becky
"

Then end of a never was

"

I'm not saying don't leave,

I'm asking for you to stay a little longer.

Don't leave me yet.

Stay long enough to explain,

Long enough to hear my side too.

I need to know the ending.

Not this maybe-ness.

I need to know if this is it.

Or if this is just the intermission.

I never know with you.

So this time,

I have to know what this is.

What this has been,

What it may be,

If it may be.

I need you to be real with me,

If just for once,

Even if it is the end.

I have to know it's the end.

You have to tell me it's over.

Otherwise I'll hope.

And hold on.

And I'm don't want to hold on anymore.

So even if you don't tell me it's over,

Maybe I'm telling you it's over.

You have a power over me,

When you leave me hanging,

And when I leave me hanging.

So I need some definition now.

I need you to stay long enough to tell me.

Tell me something.

Then go.

Then leave.

Then be done.

Then I have my ending.
