Fly Away Little Bird

Fly Away Little Bird

A Poem by Becky
"

An extended metaphor

"
Fly away little bird.
Your broken wing has mended,
And the skies call your name.
The wind begs to carry you away from here.
This isn’t the life you’re meant for.
These wings will take you far.
They will carry you high above this place.
And the view alone worth all the struggle.
Can you imagine the beauty?
All the things your meant to see?
Rubbing shoulders with the sun,
And dining with the moon.
The sky’s your playground.
Knowing that which people can only dream.
How can you fear that?
You were meant for too much
More than just sitting here with me.
Sure you entertain me.
Sure I love the way I feel with you around.
But this isn’t how it’s meant to be.
So please get out of here,
And run as fast as you can,
And spread your wings,
And give into the wind.
Don’t resist it anymore.
It’s all you were ever meant to do.
All you were ever meant to be.
