Thoughts While You're Away

Thoughts While You're Away

A Poem by IanCJ
"

Some thoughts I had about my current relationship while we were apart.

"
To say we are perfect
Would be to say I am a fool.
But still,
I wish I could be perfect for you.
I want to be perfectly imperfect,
Unbridled,
Exactly what you wish for
Before you fall asleep.

I want to be weak,
I want to be yours,
But I can’t afford anything
But an artificial weakness.
A weakness engineered by drugs
Or by pressure and manipulation.

I’m know you need me to be myself,
You want me to be who I am.
But something in the back of my mind
Whispers in my ear,
“You aren’t meant to be known.”
And I fear it may be right.

Author's Note

IanCJ
Is my word choice too extravagant? I feel like I tried too hard and it ended up being too flowery. Do you feel the same?
