Complain About The Weather

Complain About The Weather

A Poem by Dylan Cook

 Complain about The weather

 Complain about the weather

That's all you seem to do

 It always makes you blue

Whether it's sunny warm or cold

 Complaining gets really really old

Why don't you get a lover who's new

See how it feels when he complains to you

 Complain about The weather

 Complain about the weather

That's all you seem to do

 It always makes you blue

 Complain about the weather

 Complain about the weather

That's all we seem to do

Doesn't it seem silly to you

I wonder where you are? I took time away and have returned to find you've been gone as long as me. Regardless, this is a fabulous piece.

This almost seems like it belongs in a musical. Or else, it's a Dr. Seuss parody of an argument between would-be exes. At any rate I love the bouyancy even though it's a negative sort of topic. It's very lyrical, and because of that, when you get to " Why don't you get a lover who's new/ See how it feels when he complains to you" I had to laugh, even though it might have, in a more serious context, been completely inappropriate. A great job.
