The Whole Song

The Whole Song

A Poem by Dylan Cook

I used to be just lazy

I used to be in misery

Until one day I found out

 What life can be about

 It's just about singing

 The entire song

 It's about going along

 Sing the whole song

Cause if we do it half-assed

 Precious moments have passed

 We were delaying success

 For shallow instant happiness

 It's just about singing

 Sing the whole song

 It's about going along

 Sing the whole song

We're notes in the divine song

Expressing our love all day long
Except when we tend to skip

 And sometimes lose our grip

 It's just about singing

Sing the whole song

 It's about going along

 Sing the whole song

Dylan Cook
This is an inside joke. I would bring in ideas for songs but never complete them for my friend Liz who I play lead guitar with. She joked and said I should write a song called The Whole Song so I did.

I love this! So playful and so true, a whole song completes us...
