Dear Mr. Wallace,
We would like to thank you wholeheartedly for submitting your manuscript to Grimmley & Nash Publishing. We have thoroughly read and reviewed your work and we congratulate you on your completion of an obviously tremendous effort on your behalf. There is an inherent greatness within your writing that may someday change the face of literature and perhaps even the world as we know it. Your novel, “Oh God Oh God Make The Screaming Stop” is a profoundly complex, intricate, and highly original piece of literature... completely unlike anything else, to say the least. You have poured your entire body & soul into your art (as evidenced by the numerous blood stains that appear sporadically throughout, which did make some passages difficult to read). It is obvious you endured a long, torrential onslaught of bleak and joyless hours, hours which became more and more indistinguishable with yet another's passing… this may or may not have mutated into an obsidian demon of your own imagination which threatened to swallow you whole with the sheer massiveness of its unending emptiness, its catatonic blackness, its inescapable, abysmal magnetism that grew more powerful with every tortuous tick of the clock upon your squalid tenement wall. Indeed, it would appear that you came so dangerously near the brink of madness that you may in fact have no recollection of writing or even submitting the manuscript to our offices outright. We are very aware of your suffering, Mr. Wallace, and we want you to know how grateful and appreciative we are of the sacrifices you made to fulfill your artistic vision. We realize that genius comes with a terrible price, and it is quite clear you have paid your dues, perhaps more than you could afford to spare, and for this, we offer a heartfelt thanks. Unfortunately, however, due to a number of glaring budget shortfalls within the company resulting from the global economic downturn, we are unable to publish
your work at this time. These are difficult times, Mr. Wallace, as we are sure you are all too aware,
but we hope you will understand.

Thank you, and good luck with your future endeavors!

(P.S. — If the screaming continues, please do not hesitate to seek immediate medical assistance. There won't be so much blood, at least.)
