Afternoon Meeting

Afternoon Meeting

A Chapter by goltinfron_nh

The numbers don't lie.
Again, it points to something I have no control over.

They question the finding,
my methods,
my conclusion.

In the end, no one has anything better.
Again.

Make it work.
Zero Margin.
Don't forget the raw material change.
What, 12% more.
Lets sell more at the same price.
Damned China.

But what if we do this?
Done.

Oh, in the past...
Done

I saw at our other plant....
Done.

Let me say one more time, these are the option.

Upgrade.
Scrap the whole thing.
Drop the customer.

No, its worth $1.5M a year.

How much margin again.

8%, but its mostly going to CHINA in six months.

Well, what do we do?

I don't know, you tell me.

Well have you tried.....again
DONE!

Work can be frustrating many times.... especially when it is the third meeting with the same data and options on the table

I have the same type meetings, but I am the only attendent at them...
I don't have to worry about China, I have to worry more about mud.
The poem says we worry about the same type things, only my worries are agrarian, and yours, industrial.
enjoyed the poem
