Normal

Normal

A Poem by goldie uttamchandani
"

A man who has accept his life is normal.

"

After a while his normal consisted of a regular coughing of water from when he had almost drown

He found it normal to not look forward anymore

It was a day to day of looking up

After a while his life seemed like any ordinary life

Only he knew the extraordinary pathos living inside

He had learnt to imitate the perfect reaction

To things that no longer gave him any satisfaction

After a while he had stitched his soul up from the dangling threads of silver lining

His dog, the football score, the colours of the sky intertwining

That special tile on the floor

He didn’t seem to need much more

After a while less was more

He enjoyed the numb external feeling

Had accepted the cards his fate was dealing

After a while he would also fall into nothingness

All words felt meaningless

It was his plight to fight

Nothing or no one could make it all right

His normal was this

A mixture of flat and fizz

Each day brought him a new pop quiz

He’d smile behind his tornado

“It is what it is” :)
