Longing

Longing

A Poem by Lale
"

Life is tasteless without poetry.

"
I remember, early -early- morn
soft wind blowing that linen curtain
and music aesthetically plays background
I never thought about longing more than today
little sun peeping in
yet running away the moment i realize its presence
I lie, I wake up for that blink
I never thought about longing more than today
Nothing that i miss more
than the aroma of jasmine
wearing my neighbor's garden bravely
I never thought about longing more than today

This is a very haunting poem. You have created a deliberate effect & it works strongly to put the reader into this forlorn mindset of chronic dissatisfaction. I love that you throw in a hint that this could be about longing for a person, but other unrelated hints let this also be about all different other kinds of longings. I'm not usually a fan of font manipulation to a large degree, but the italics really work well (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Hello Barleygirl,
thank you for your heartwarming feedback! I appreciate that.
Poetry is made for those moments. Remembering that scented jasmine. What better way than expressing it in poetic format. That soft wind blowing on the linen curtain and the music have certainly captured the moment. Beautifully visual.

You are welcome my friend.
Those moments you speak of never leave the memory, and fortunately so. For what is poetry without words to describe those special and sometimes painful experiences.

That's true. Thank you for reading.
A rather sad, but poignant piece on something missing in your life, but perhaps timid to embrace it. Fear of sunlight, only a glimpse and return to your mood.we don’t know what one longs for....sometimes it’s love, friendship, etc
The aromas of Jasmine, ; it’s the early morn of longing.
Very nicely written Lale.

you are very kind
Love the jasmine lines....how else can we really express longing except in poetic terms...
the sun can run from us, the words cannot.
