City Love

City Love

A Poem by Red
"

Nature vs Nuture?

"
I've always wanted to see the trees,
Feel leaves and hear the breeze,
Like that nature kids sees.

But I love the train when it flies through my city,
And I love the planes high above my city,
And the all the cars clogging up my city
Streets,
The urban beats,
That's the s**t that catches me.

The only buds I know
Are the ones I smoked.

Summer wind fell through my pipe
Dreams,
And so it seems,
Mother nature forgot about me.

Wowwy...Palooza!...This poem was so skillfull, clever, witty, and ingenious. I admire the rhyme scheme that was present within the lines and also at the end of the lines. Nice Work!

Lovin' the mary-jane references. I like how the narrator respects nature, even wants to be a part of it, but yet she understands herself well enough to see where she really belongs. The contradiction you made by using the derogatory word "clogging" in the second stanza was fascinating. One wouldn't really think of paradise having toxic air, but you made it clear that it can.
"Summer wind fell through my pipe."
Bravo.
