Come on, Ameria[LAST DRAFT]

Seriously, America? Fame has practically become degrading because of the modern view on the world.

It has come to my attention that many people are famous for absolutely nothing special. For example, take modern pop artists. They are mostly the same: flamboyant personality, auto-tune, a ridiculous amount of help creating their music, and lack of any real talent. I am puzzled on how Nicki Minaj has become more famous than Jackie Evancho, whose musical talent is unrivalled. Talent in modern society is unnoticed, while many people receive credit for singing a song that is that is realistically not even theirs. I am constantly perplexed about how basically the same songs are constantly becoming famous.
A basic formula exists for creating a successful song. It needs a catchy tune, initial recognition of the artist(s), and lyrics that are incomprehensible unless they are written or repeated. Modern pop artists write about approximately five topics: Money, someone is nothing, a person of the opposite gender, I rose from nothing, or drugs. There are many songs outside of the criteria, but there are always outliers in large sets of data.
Radio stations are the main culprit of the spread of bad and repetitive music. I avoid the radio because it is over-hyped and have about ten songs in their set lists. The only thing more repetitive than radio stations are famous Youtubers, but that is another story altogether. When I talk about repetition, I don't mean the poetic repetition that expresses a point, but the constant annoyance of hearing a sentence with no real meaning more times than necessary.
When people talk about famous musicians in the pop industry, I can't see how they overlook every flaw in the songs. I believe if someone listened to most of the songs made in the late 1900's, they would not go back to modern music. Taking someone else's idea and pretending it's original should be looked down upon, not praised.

I find your piece witty and full of charm. However, some of the points I didn't agree with. I am the first person to bash on the annoying pop songs, but what's to say catchy and mindless isn't a good thing. Though there are some pop songs that are complete crap, others have a nice beat and serve well at a school dance. Also, I'm not a fan of Nicki Minaj but it's not to say she doesn't have talent.. Overall I pretty much agree. I mean, we have reality shows centered around becoming Paris Hilton's best friends, who does nothing.. Good job :)
