Illusional

Illusional

A Story by Gold Bird

"Baby, I understand that you're sad, but there is one thing you have to know, and that is that everything is just an illusion. Your whole life, it's like it doesn't even exist. The only person feeling what you are feeling is you, and that means that everyone lives in his own world, and that we're not able to cross other people's borders. We live inside our heads. And because of that, you are not capable of separating what you see and what you hear from what you think. You are controlled by your own thoughts, but they are not even real. Nothing is real. Nothing is the pure naked truth. There is no such thing. That is why it is so easy for people to get lost. We wonder and we walk around because in our minds there is an idea of something that we are waiting to happen, and that we think is hiding in some corner of the world. Well, it's not. It's just a dream, we are just an insane amount of crazy dreams all bundled up. Sometimes we meet people whose dreams are similar to ours, there are some colors in common and some non-sense ideas that actually fit together, and we fall in love. You are sad, my love, but I must tell you that when you stop crying because of him, you shouldn't do it ever again. You know why? Because love is an energy, and it's a strength that lights our heart up inside and makes our legs tremble and our blood run thicker, and we can't control it. One day you are going to marry someone you love so much that you will never understand why you do. The same way you will never understand why they love you.

It's okay, honey. Don't try to understand everything. You can't. Things are very messed up, and very sad, and very beautiful and they never make sense. But we were born to live in this world, you, me, and everybody else you know. So we are strong enough to be here, okay? We are. And in those days when you're just not, try to remember that this is just a dream. You are going to wake up, and then fall asleep again and dream other dreams.  Everything is temporary, so try not to worry much. The time in which we'll be all dead is incomparably longer than the one that we have alive. As we live stuck inside our heads, we tend to think that our problems are very big and important, when in reality they are so small that nobody else sees them or worries about them.

So, breathe. Clean up your head and stop hurting so deeply. What you feel is going to be gone before you know. You are going to be gone before you know. And then, you will have all the time in the world to be quiet and alone."

A profound and heartfelt piece. I think many of us could find this quite relatable, I know I do. I look forward to reading more!
