Made of stoneA Poem by Mad HatterIn the land of the starless night We were too frozen to feel the fright We are not the land of the dead We are made of stone In the land where time will never bend We were pleasured of being alone But once the white rider came it is difficult to escape the tempting of the unknown The closer he comes The more melted I’ve become This could be god’s final test But I let myself go And felt the stone melt from my flesh My lord, could this be mine? For once I saw a glimmer of a star that shined Opened me up and let you touch my heart With trust to the bottom pits of my soul But my trust is as black as coal You took the dagger And cut out my heart to watch me bleed Till there was nothing left of me Drowning my will to ever fly And broke my wings so I would never touch the sky Regrets cannot be revisited Only revised I cannot torch this wounded heart But I’ll bury it alive Somewhere deep down at the bottom It struggles to survive But the deeper it gets The easier it is to forget You may try to dig your way out But I’ll make everyone ignore your shout And one day, my love, you will disintegrate And I will find my heart again Along with my strength I believe it to be just around the bend I won’t numb the pain As long as I feel your deep cut It shall keep my mind sane No longer made of stone I’ll enrich the pain till I am grown © 2012 Mad HatterAuthor's Note
