Chapter 5 - Queen's sky eyes

Rosalina wandered around her new castle. Even after 6 years she called her castle new. It was still under work, but she was really proud of it. She had had a castle before in the outer space, but it was small and after seeing Peach’s and Daisy’s castles she had been jealous. Everyone would say she shouldn’t been so jealous and she had her own palace, but it wasn’t enough. Rosalina’s observatory didn’t have walls! But finally she had her own castle. She had edited everything in Peach’s castle to her taste. She had made sure that almost every wall had space painting and that alone had taken about three years. Even more.

She walked in the long halls full of doors and candles on walls. Hopefully the walls would soon have paintings of the next rulers. Suddenly Rosalina woke from her pride. 6 years? Had it really been 6 years? 6 years before she had been ruling this Town and Kingdom?  The Toad Town had been closed for so long and it had stayed so clean.

“You’re Highness, there’s a familiar group terrorizing the city. A short man with thick moustache and a taller slim guy with moustache and sad look on his face. Two girls, the other is blonde with blue eyes and the other is titian haired girl with blue eyes. The guards also reported that there was chubby man with big nose and dark mutton chops and unshaven beards too. There was also another tall slim man, but he had these long elf-like ears, long nose and long English moustaches. They had cart with heavy looking boxes and two green yoshis pulling them. The blon-“ a little man whose name was Polari tried to say, but Rosalina interrupted him “Call HER by HER name. Peach”, she looked at the little man with annoyed look. “Peach dropped some kind of gun and one of the lumen guards brought it”, he stood straight the best he could to appear taller.

Immediate spark of interest lit in Rosalina’s eyes and she smiled curiously. “Can you bring it to me now please?” she asked politely. “Y-yes ma’am!” Polari smiled and left the hallway closing the door behind him. Rosalina quickly walked after him. What this group of people possibly had done? How they had gotten guns? And the guards weren’t able to stop them? Well… they weren’t made for bad situations yet and they were little undone, but if things like these kept happening, something had to be done.

The red full room carpet silenced her black velvet ankle strap heels as she walked to the door with quick pace. She opened the heavy doors and came to giant hall that was the throne room. It was the room that most of time was put on. The ceiling was glass so Rosalina could look at the stars on long nights. The walls were dark blue and there was pastel blue clouds and thousands of stars painted on. She had taken part on the painting progress, because this room was special and even before her bedroom. This was the room where all the people came, so this room had to always look clean and tidy.

Queen Rosalina sat on her throne and looked at her advisor next to her, a dark skinned little man. Actually stars might’ve not even had skin. He was just dark colored with wide sky-like blue eyes. Mouth was all he was missing, but he could talk of course. He wore a suit to everywhere he could. He only had different clothing for sleeping. He had always been at Rosalina’s side, guiding her through life, through her mother’s loss. Polari was just one of the many lumas that served her through her life. Two colorful lumas opened the castle doors and six lumen guards marched in.

“Good morning Your Highness!” the guards shouted and kneeled in front of her.

“Please stand up, these aren’t the best news you’re bringing?” Rosalina crossed her leg and took more comfortable position to face the news.

“Thank you, Your Majesty. There was a group of six out in the village, terrorizing it. They had gotten cart with two green yoshis pulling them and there were heavy looking boxes inside. We believe that the boxes contain these higher technology guns,” the commander stood up on their little legs and looked the queen into her eyes. Rosalina saw that this luma was in great fear. Why? Had Rosalina punished them sometime so badly they hadn’t forgotten it? “Can you show me the gun? I heard from my advisor that you have one gun with you”, Rosalina tried to smile leniently and she saw the fear getting smaller, giving space to courage and respect.

“Of-of course! Here you go, Your Majesty”, the commander took the rifle from one of the soldiers, they nodded to each other as sign of agreement that the commander wasn’t just stealing, but this had to be done, so the queen wouldn’t get mad. He walked up to Rosalina, went down to their knees and handed over the heavy rifle. Rosalina took it with great smile and looked at the beautiful gun.

“Do you know where this group needed the guns?” she asked and looked the commander.

“N-no ma’am. Sadly I don’t have information for that”, they lowered their head in shame.

“Could you catch these rebels and bring them to me? I would gladly have a talk with them”, Rosalina smiled to the commander and they nodded.

“We will do our best to serve you, our Majesty”, they kneeled deep and placed their hat on their heart from their head. Rosalina laid their hand on their head and smiled proudly.

“You are one of the best guards I know. Thank you”, she bowed to the guards and sat back on her throne.

“Lubba! Please come here, I have important task for you”, Rosalina shouted as the guard troop left. A heavy, well dressed star hurried in front of Rosalina and bowed. “M-my Majesty! Why do you call for me?” the purple, blue-eyed luma asked looking down.

“Please look me to my eyes as you speak”, Rosalina asked, but didn’t waste time and went to the point. “Commander brought me this gun. A rifle. Do you know how much damage this does? Can you make more of them, but change the appearance into something I like, please”, to Lubba Rosalina’s request wasn’t a request. It was a command.

“Y-yes my queen!” Lubba stood up and took the gun he was given. He headed to the massive work room and drove off three green lumas that were sleeping next to wall. They were in the castle to work. They did the work of creating inventions, and seemed like soon they would have pleny of things to do. Lubba had seen that Rosalina’s eyes told something that there was going to be big changes.

“Shoo shoo! You need to start working! The Queen wants guns for the troops and change lumen guards color into red ones. We need to start having some different colored guards to make them stand out.”
