Across The RoomA Poem by Paul D. AronsonThis poem came to me watching a girl on the other side of a room. We were married a year and a half later :)I watch you sitting across the room Your sadness washes over me And reminds me how different it is When you are with me. You sit there now The loneliness so apparent Why am I the only one to notice? Is it because I love you beyond all others Or is it because you love me And want nothing more Than to sit by my side Upon my lap Resting against my beating heart To breathe in steady rhythm And touch each other in love. I watch you sitting across the room Your sadness washes over me And reminds me of how happy I could make you if you were just here beside me.© 2010 Paul D. Aronson |
