Running, Racing, Jumping, SpacingA Poem by Miss Sally SunshineWind whips at my leg Smelling of spring and hope My pony tail bouncing Steps light and airy
I'm headed out Out for a run In the woods Behind my school
The place where I love The place where I lost The place where I laugh The place where I lie
I climb over roots, Tree stumps galore Up hills and around trails Not quite wanting to start
I know once I start I'll want to stop But I wont Because I can't
The place where I love The place were I lost The place where I laugh The place where I lie
My legs will burn My chest will burst My hips will cry My knees will creak
But I'll be strong And run on Over the hills And around the rocks
The place where I live The place where I lost The place where I laugh The place where I lie
Daydreams will fill my head Lost in my own world Just running And living
No electornics No iPod, no music No time or distractions Just me in the woods
Peace Serenity Hardwork Clear-head
Out there Everything makes sense
Just you and your legs Running this way And that Making your mark
