Teen Love

God, I hate teen love.

Teenagers.

You say it's love.

 

It's really not.

You don't know.

 

It's just some

other boy/girl.

 

And more will

come after that one.

 

So, listen up.

 

Don't say 'I love you"

Right away, because

most likely you dont.

 

You just strongly

Like the person.

 

Love is different.

You're in the stage of

 

"I have a boy/girlfriend!"

"So this is love!"

 

No, it's not.

Not even close.

 

When you fall in love,

that's just it. You fall.

 

You dont cautiously

dip you toes in.

 

All you can think

about is the other.

 

You can't sleep

You can't concentrate

 

You're in love.

 

So Teens,

Don't say

 

"I love you"

Until you really are.

I hate teen "love" and for all of those that are probably thinking "But my bf/gf and I are really in love!!!" I highly, HIGHLY, doubt it, but if you really TRULY are, then all the more power to you. But, most likely, it's isn't love, it's a more muted form of lust.

I respectfully disagree.
There are different levels of love, and some of my friends have been in committed relationships for a long time, and on some level I do believe they love each other.
But anyways, great write.
