It will keep for the nightA Chapter by Miss Sally SunshineI sat there in silence. My history was dirtier than I expected, but my heart filled with pride knowing that I was related to such powerful people.
"Sooo..." I said, staring at Grandma Thora, "my history started off with a scandal, then murder, then ended with a disappearecnce? That's wicked twisted Grandma!" I laughed, and Grandma Thora laughed along with me.
Seth popped his head around the door frame. "Is it safe to enter yet?" he asked.
I laughed again. "Yup. It's safe."
Seth smiled and came in, followed closely by Ava, Avery, Nolan, and Adian.
Seth sat on one side of me with Ava on the other side, and Adain clambered up onto my lap.
I was glad that Nolan didn't sit next to me, after our kiss. And jsut thinking of our kiss sent my blood to boiling. I mean, how could he do that! I don't like him like that! And I feel like I'm cheating on Seth now! How could he!
As I sat there think all these thoughts I could feel my skin getting hotter. I felt a cool touch on my hand. I looked up from my lap. Ava hand her hand on my arm. She looked at me, with that look in her eyes that said "We'll talk about this later."
I laughed, just like how my mom was supposed to do. That's when I realized how much Ava's changed over these last few weeks. She was less mean, less selfish, less cold. So in other words, she grew up.
I wondered how I had changed. It didn't seem like I changed at all. Maybe just a bit more responsible now that I had a little kid to take care off.
Nolan didn't seem to have changed, except for his bold move back outside... Uck! I have to get that out of my brain!
I shook my head, trying to clear out all the thoughts.
I looked up and chaught Nolan staring at me. His eyes held a smug touch to them, as did his smile. He thought I was thinking good thoughts about the kiss!
I glared at him, and the smugness faded a bit.
I'd have to talk to him sometime, straighten things out, and tell Seth. I shuddered. I didn't want to tell Seth.
Ava leaned in close and whispered into my ear, "Let it go. It will keep for the night."
I smiled. That was one of my favorite things that Ava ever said.
I nodded, and she patted my hand. I knew that I would have to face my challenges, but it would "keep for the night" even though it was the day... © 2011 Miss Sally SunshineAuthor's Note
