Secrets are revealedA Chapter by Miss Sally SunshineI helped Grandma Thora to a seat and got her some food in a stupor.
How could she know about me? How! My parents didn't even know! And did she know about Ava, Nolan, Avery, and Adian, too?
These questions, and more, swirled around in my head. Bouncing around, making me a bit nervous.
I sat down at the table, sitting down across from her.
Thora cut up her bacon into incrediably small pieces before poping them into her mouth.
After a few minutes of me just sitting there, Thora eating, and the others no where to be seen, I started to squrim around.
"I know you're dying to ask questions, deary. So out with them." Grandma Thora said without even looking up at me.
I sqruimed around a bit more until I finally asked the question that had been bugging me the most. "How do you know about me? About what I can do?"
Grandma Thora laughed. "It runs in the family, deary!"
I sat back, I didn't even realize I was inching forward.
What did Grandma Thora mean that it runs in the family? Great! Another question!
I looked up at Grandma Thora. "What do you mean it runs in the family? What can you do?"
Thora smiled at me. "Well, deary, I can transport, just like Adian. He gets that from me, you know."
I nodded. "So you know about Adian."
"Of course I know about Adian! Why would I not know about my own grandchild!" Grandma Thora cried.
"Well, I didn't know I had a brother until about two or three days ago." I grumbled.
Grandma Thora stared at me. "What do you mean you didn't know? They didn't tell you?" Thora kept asking questions, but now they seemed to be directed not at me, but to people I couldn't see. "Why didn't they tell you. So you don't know about the prophecy. You don't know what's going to happen. Why? Why didn't they tell you?"
"Grandma! Grandma!" I called, trying to bring her back down to earth.
"Huh? What?" Grandma Thora asked.
"Grandma. Tell me what's going on. You can't keep me in the dark forever you know!" I cried. I wanted answers and I wanted them now.
"Where to start. Where to start." Grandma mumbled.
"How about you start with the Adian?" I snapped.
"Don't get testy with me now, deary." Grandma said sternly.
I exploded, I just exploded. "Don't you talk about geting testy!" I screamed. I jumped up from my chair, and leaned over the table, so I was real close to her face. "In about two weeks I went from learning about my abilities, to almost being killed! Then from there I was safe, THEN I found out I had a brother, to almost losing that brother unless I desytoryed the world!! I've been through hell in the last two weeks or so!! So I have a freakin' right to be test!!! I've been dealing with all this in the dark! Practially blind! So I want some freakin' answers, and I want them NOW!!!"
I sat back down in my chair, breathiing heavily, and seeing red. I don't want all this mystic b.s. crap. I want straight answers.
Grandma Thora leaned closer to me, and rested her head on her folded hands. "Now, Jade. That is no way to talk to your grandmother, but I understand where you're coming from, so I'll let it slide. Besides, I like your fire. That's why you have the ability you do. You were born with an incrediable fire. Unstoppable and undeniable."
Grandma Thora's voice started out stern and strong, but softened as she contiued to talk. Her voice was really strong and proud by the end.
I was suddenly tired, like I alwasy am after I let out some fire. "Grandma, my patience isn't wanning, it's completely gone. Just, please, give me the whole stroy. And start from the begining." © 2011 Miss Sally SunshineAuthor's Note
