Sky Blue

I was sitting in a back corner at Border's. In the SyFy/ Romance section. Reading a random book a pulled off the shelf.

 

I sneaked a piece of cantalope every once and a while, when no one was looking.

 

I skimmed to the back of the book. It ended really unoriginally. I sighed and placed it back on the shelf right next to me.

 

I sighed again and stood up. Lookign for another book.

 

I really loved the bookstore. The smell of freshly printed books, the quiet, and the fact that you don't know what adventure you could stumble apon in the vastness of all the books.

 

I ventured out of the SyFy section, sneaking a piece of cantalope. I slouched over to the fantasy section, and my eyes were assalted by a color. Sky blue.

 

The color belonged to a girl. The color belonged to her eyes.

 

She was skimming through a book, I couldn't see the cover, but she didn't seem to like it. She huffed and picked up a new book, so I had the chance to look at the rest of her.

 

She had on a black tee-shirt with the word Nirvana on the front, in white letters,  and a short, but not too short, black skirt on. She had black leggings with neon green paint splatters on them. She also had on black combat boots, up to mid-calf, and a short black coat.

 

She was amazing. And I guess she felt me staring because she looked up at me. I looked away quickly. When I sneaked another look at her, she was still looking at me. She winked.

 

That little wink gave me enough courage to walk over and ask her name. "Hi. I'm Nolan."

 

A small smile was on her face. "Hey, I'm Jess. Bleeding heart?" She had a bundle of the little flowers in her hand. She tugged one out and passed it to me. Then, she walked away.

 

Saddness suddenly washed over me. I didn't even really get to talk to her! How could I have let her get away! I was such and idiot!

 

I held up the little flower. There was a tag on it, and there was a number on the tag!!!

 

Yes! Score for Nolan!

 

I flipped open my new black berry and added her number, then I walked out of the bookstore, a small smile on my face.

I did use Nolan from Bloodlust. This is the first in a little mini series of romance stories that I'll write along with Bloodlust, and I might add some other books along the way as well :)

Oh, I love this. Made me smile. :) I wish I had this courage. Although I love to socialize with people, it's hard for me to have the nerve to go up and say hi to someone. Especially someone I like. :)
