Down Fall

This is when things start to go bad for everyone.

It had been a week since that first week, and I was, kinda, avoiding Ava. I was spending more time with Nolan and Luca.

Nolan unterstands way I didn't want to see Ava. Well, he can read my mind so he should be able to unterstand.

Anyway. I was spending more time with Nolan and Luca, and I was falling more in love with Luca. I would just sit on Nol's couch or hours listening to Luca's life stories. They were really sad.

His younger sister, Lily, had died in a car accident.And around the time of his sister's death he started to shift, and when his parents had seen him shift they freaked out and threw him out of their house. So he has been traveling every where, looking for people like us.

He meet up with Avery in Nevada, and he decided to come with Luca.

I think Avery, approves of his choice now because he wouldn't have found Ava any other way.

Okay, back to the present. It was a friday, and we had just finnished up our second meeting, and my parents were out for buisness so I was sleeping over Nolan's. His parents were home, and I was going to sleep on an air mattress, while he would sleep on the couch.

Luca was staying too, but he volunteered to take the floor.

So, it was 9:30 and we were to wired to even think about sleep so we were all on the couch, just talking.

I was sitting in the middle, and Luca had his arm restting on the couch behind me. Yay!

It was then when he voiced his idea. "I think we should put on a show for every one in town. Each of us would show off our abilities!!"

I could feel my idea's lit up. "Ohmygod, yes!!! That would be so cool!" I squealled.

I looked over at Nolan. He looked worried, as usual. I grabbed his hand. "Come on Nol!! It would be so fun!" I begged.

Nolan looked up at me. I could tell he was battling with himself, so I put on my 'Pretty pretty please, I'm your best friend/I'm your little Jada face', and Nolan caved.

"Okay Jade, anything for you, and stop using that face!" Nolan laughed.

"Yes! Thank you! Thank you!" I yelled. I gave him a hug, but I was so happy that I practically fell on him.

Nolan pushed me back up into sitting position, while still laughinig.

"Hey!" Luca cried. "What about the guy who came up with the idea?"

I laughed but I gave him a hug anyway. I was secretly happy that he at least showed some intrest in me.

When I sat back from our hug, Luca dropped his arm from the couch to around my shoulders.

I saw a look of anger cross over Nolan's face as he stared at Luca and I.

I started to blush, because I realized he was probably reading my thoughts.

This is going to be a long night, I thought, and out of the corner of my eye I saw Nolan nod.

Later, around 1 in the morning, Nolan slid down from the couch onto the mattress with me. Luca was asleep, and I was half asleep, just listening to my IPod.

I pulled one of my earbuds out of my ear, and handed it to Nolan. He took it and put it in his ear.

Even though I was half asleep I could tell something was bothering him. I reached over and grabbed his hand and gave it a squeeze. He squeezed back.

He sighed. "Come on Nol, I'm not going to be around much longer." I said sleepily.

Nol chuckled. He knew I was almost asleep.

He sighed again, but started talking. "I don't trust Luca all that much, and it's obvious that you like him. But I don't trust him with you, or any of us. He's thoughts are sometimes disturbed...."

"Disturbed how?" I mumbled.

"Like when he thinks about this show, or about you and your power. I don't think he's all there, you know. I don't think you should get all that attached."

I was a little bit angry, but I was too close to sleep to get tha worked up over it, so I just mumbled. "I trust him. He's nice to me."

Nol sighed again. He was always sighing. "Well I don't trust him. Come on, kiddo. Just listen to me."

I nodded. When did my eyes close?

"Can you just promise me that you won't go near him without Ava or myself? 'Kay?" he asked.

I shook my head. "To late. He attacked me, kinda, when I was coming home, some days ago. He grabbed me and made me listen to him, sorta, and then I talked to him, sorta." since I was so close to sleep the memory was a little bit fuzzy.

Nolan whistled out through his teeth. He was on edge now, a little bit mad. What had I said? I couldn't remember even though I said it a minute ago.

Nolan leaned over and laid his cheek on my forehead for a minute, then he kissed my forehead softly and went back up on the couch, but he didn't drop my hand.

Just before sleep claimed me I heard Nolan whisper. "This isn't going to be good." Then I was gone.

This chapter's a little scatterbrained, but I keep getting destracted so, sorry. What do you think? Should it be Jade and Luca? Or should Jade be wih someone else? And how about Avery and Ava? Too perfect, or match made in heaven?
