I Dream

This is a finding poem. I used an excerpt from Martin Luther King's speech. I took words from that except and made my own poem.

I Dream: 

 

 

I dream deeply

I dream of today and of tomorrow

 

I dream of the red hills of Georgia

I dream of the sweltering heat of Mississippi

 

I dream of an oasis rising up, out of

Georgia's hills and Mississippi's heat

 

I dream of an oasis of freedom, where children

will be judged by their character, and not by their skin

 

I dream deeply

I dream of tomorrow and of today

I LOVE this one! One of my favorites! The beginning gave me a feeling of carefree and the end gave me a strong conclusion! And so true! Two of my best friends are black. And they're my friends because they're like normal, friendly people! I'm a republican and when people say that we don't like Obama because of his skin has nothing to do with it! Its his character, I don't like! The inside is what matters. Not the outside. I really loved this! You're a great writer especially for being so young! :)

I love this it is written true!!! my son is half black and half white and I always taught him to be proud of who he is and not just the color of his skin!!! very good!!!

It's nice no I take that back it's imperitive that one has dreams This is a good poem you have melded together two entirly diffirent settings and given the reader(s) a very vivid picture here well done!
I may be wrong but from reading this poem I would say that you are a southerner. I hope to read more of your writings in the near future.
