Haunted SojournA Poem by G. Marie"floating on an endless sea of poetry"words: transparent, haunt, shadow, deception, sinister, repugnant, ghastly, ominous, abode. for my poetry groupAn eerie night as shadows come to life traveling down a lonely highway on our sojourn to the lodge in the country miles away
Out of the shadows appears an omnious creature I fear his face was pale and ghastly as he walked across the highway our car screeched to a halt not to kill the already dead for if dead not to be our fault
This sinister creature of the night took off his cape in our sight revealing a transparent silhoette then off the ground he arose his face repugnant and old he asked for help in a sinister tone to help him find his abode
Long lost was his home so the tale he told a fire destroyed his home and with it him and his family he said he must return to it so he could finally be free from roaming the earth and forever haunting
I could not look into his eyes the evil he could not disguise I must continue this sojourn and he continue his
In terror I fled this deception I read between the lines of a sinister ghost that haunts in the night giving us a fright
I crossed myself and said a prayer looked back to the road where he had been and he vanished in thin air he is out there somewhere I Fear!
