The Boy with a Mace

The Boy with a Mace

A Poem by glow

Long ago in a faraway abode,
There was a child who had a sword.
And a crossbow with countless arrow,
Living inside a huge ground burrow.
He used to eat a number of things,
And used to shoot birds on their wings.
One day he came upon,
A beast as mighty as dawn,
He began shivering from top to toe,
What was in fate how could he know?
Long ago in a faraway abode,
There was a child who had a sword.
And a crossbow with countless arrow,
Living inside a huge ground burrow.
He used to eat a number of things,
And used to shoot birds on their wings.
One day he came upon,
A beast as mighty as dawn,
He began shivering from top to toe,
What was in fate how could he know?
Just like a very merry boy
And went away that beast with a smile
This looked as if as broad as a mile!
Without a thought about the boy
Whom he had no intention to destroy
The loser taking his last breathes there
Was saved (luckily!) by many people, where
No one could guess how the boy with a sword
Couldn’t keep up with his mighty word
Of being saviour of all with might
Was attacked by such a blight

Interesting. Would you mind giving me a little of an explanation about the end?
