True Love

True Love

A Poem by glorygrace&gold
"

what do any of us really know about love?

"

I don't know what true love really is.

Never experienced it, nor am I sure if I believe in it.

But I do know what it isn't.

It never lies.  It doesn't cheat.

It never dies nor does it flee.

It does not hide when the going gets tough.

Maybe like a rose: petals soft but thorns rough.

Yet it doesn't make those bleed, for those who love.

And for those who hate, it's just tough love.

It shouldn't hurt, it shouldn't damage,

true love shouldn't be savage.

It should be saved for those who deserve

and for those who don't will never know

what it means to love and to wait,

for the perfect timing will never find fate.

There is no perfect, yet there is no hate.

True love is not what it's all meant to be.

Some say its a fairytale.

Some say it's a dream.

Some say they want to believe it, but for now it's not for me.
