Prom

Prom

A Poem by glorygrace&gold
"

It's not what you think.

"

Where will you be 20 years from this day?

What will you do?

And what will you say?

Will it matter what you wore

to that party last night?

Would it matter in life

if you got in a school fight?

Will they care how you dress

when you find cures to cancer

will they judge your designer clothes

if you discover the answer?

Will they care if you smoked,

if you hung out with all the right ones,

the popular type, the social butterflys,

they won't give 2 s***s for your dumb lies.

Believe me, I've been there.

And prom wasn't all that,

just some cheap beer,

in an old hotel,

and a bunch of kids saying their farewell.

Wow...the cynicism. Why not say something about the 400 dollar dress to be worn one time, hair/nail/wax and renting the Limo? Yup a waste of time, but we only get one go around.

Love the writing style though....Can't wait to read more.
