Prose Poetica

Prose Poetica

A Poem by Joseph LaBarge
"

a slam poem about slam poetry.

"

All hail

the b*****d son of dadaism

counting syllables

and lines

never suited me

f**k haiku's

I don’t know punctuation

or affirm alliteration

every fifth line or so might rhyme

but there is no rhythm

only sound

spoken

i never claimed to be a poet

i just like the space and form

of thoughts

on paper

centered.

and some one said

that’s poetry

prose dissected

The english professors

hate me

but i just like how some things sound

don’t know what you call it

it just is

……

to me

words are poetry

no matter how random

every one is

was

will be

a poet

the best lines come from television

radio

/

news

see appendix on found art

back space

press esc to continue

(click)

I used to under stand technical form

time

rhythm

alliteration

transubstantiation was my favorite

backed up

over logged

till my head blew up

(explosion)

intellectualism

….

i came to express what i can’t express

listen to the music made with words

words dancing when spoken

See

appendix

on

/Slam/

(Bam)

poetry is a living thing.

it cant be written

or memorized.

only preformed.

in your head

spoken

silently

or otherwise

here comes the real revolution

(silence)

About
I am a lapsed anarchist with a Dadaist sense of humor. I am horrible with punctuation, grammar, and spelling. I do not believe in form or reasonableness. My writing tends to contain contradictions and.. more..
