HumanA Poem by gloreahThe poem is about the cry for freedom from violence, and human liberation.
Innocent souls in their prime,
full of expectations, is thrown into a world of captivity, no where to turn. It's like we are chained they say, bound and shackled to a fate. A fate decided by the principles and tenets of social dogmatism and barbarism. We are wounded, abused and persecuted because we are "we". I am, we are, you are too. The same beings but treated differently because of our age and sex. Violence on every side, on the highways, streets and even in our homes. Let us I say, break free from the chains of ignorance which binds us to victimization and unwarranted stigmatization, then create a peaceful abode, where we can finally be free. Freedom comes from knowledge. Knowledge is upliftment. Knowledge brings empowerment. Knowledge is power. I am, I am a man, I am a woman, I am...Human. © 2017 gloreah |
