smitten girls always win

smitten girls always win

A Poem by glittery_moth

with crayons of multicoloured accusations of love, you coloured me black. Now I am a colour-not-a-colour, a simple tone. How i denied you, time after time after time after midnight, I know not, I acknowledge that I may have opheliac tendencies towards you, but will not say,

  i love you.

three hundred thousand seconds later, I was broken when you kissed the smitten girl who did say the three words. You don't want love, just the declarations, and I was too much a coward to speak, but I need true love,
not just the words. Maybe you are not the missing puzzle piece to my soul but still,
        I love you.

"you must miss her." My scream came out profanities and I jumped out of my skin and into yours, you wrapped yourself around me and allowed me to sob out my memories. I managed a frail, queasy looking nod and stuck my nose ungracefully into you chest. You didn't once let your eye-lids cover your beautiful emerald pupils and stroked my static unruly tresses. moments like this make me want to blurt,
                            I love you.

You pressed your cherry lips against my rose ones and the flavours didn't clash, in-fact they infused and became passion. Or maybe closing my eyes
had also blinkered my senses, only not taste, touch or smell. My mind was muddling with foggy whispers of doubts. Maybe this was all a dream
and that's why its shimmering round the edges. I only knew i was awake when i felt you whisper
             "I love you"

and i was finally free to let my mouth form the phrase "I love you too."
