Easter Blessing

Easter Blessing

A Poem by Natalie Lozano
"

I was thinking of my mom who passed last year. And this poem poured right out of me.

"

Walking in the green grass. The wind stirs the flowers around me and the petals go flying in the breeze.

My cloak answers the wind as it swirls around me. I raise my face to the sun and feel the breeze.

As my bare feet relish the coolness of the grass. There up ahead a bright pink egg is hiding.

Putting it in my basket. I move on in search of more.

Then a little girl with a bright smile and dark eyes runs to me. Mommy mommy!!

Look I found a Yeyo one.  She holds up a brightly colred Yellow egg.

Yes u did good job. Her smile makes me smile and my eyes hold back tears.

I look up “doesn’t she look lovely mom”. A ray of sunlight beams down on us and the wind stirs my daughter’s hair.

I know she sees us the nana in heaven. I grab my daughters hand and continue to look for eggs.

Smiling as tears roll down my cheeks. As I remember last year when my mom was still with us.

Then up ahead I find a garden of sweetpeas. And I hear “sweet peas for my sweet pea” on the wind.

Her nickname for her grandchild. Taking a picture of her amidst the flowers in every color.

Happy Easter mom! And I hear in a little voice beside me Happy Easter Nana!

Grabbing her in a fierce hug. I am reminded I’m blessed.

Hi there natalie,

Thanks for your kind comments on Creations. I enjoyed Easter blessing for several reasons the first being your metaphor ability "Such as your cloak answers the wind" , your feet relishing the grass.

What I liked most of all was your overall interaction with nature and your ability to overcome the past and luxuriate in the here and now.

I have another web page if you want to go and have a look. The first song on the play list is mine and you'll find the lyrics there as well.

Hope to hear from you again.

All the best to you and your family.

I think it's a beautiful poem with lovely imagery. You can feel the joy of spring and Easter, as well as the lingering sadness of loss. I can tell you loved your mother very much. Billi

I really think the imagery was the strongest part of this; and it really worked, I really enjoyed this =]

This is good. A little sad. I loved the garden part and the wind whispering. Your poem created vivid images of Easters long ago. At least I think so. Very good!!
