I try not to think of youA Poem by Lydia WaldockPost break up poem
I try not to think of you I try not to feel the pang in my heart at dawn and again at dusk I try not to think of you but all I wonder is what I've been wondering from the start are you thinking of me? am I on your mind? When you take your coffee and cigarette outside does the silence comfort or destroy you? When you see that lake do you hear me say "the water looks nice tonight"? When you see the mountains do you hear me say "oh my GOD! look at them" I try not to think about how I wanted you to see the beauty of this world but you never looked I try not to think about our conversations for when I do I am filled with a depressed rage at how you'd never speak to me was it a year I wasted? A year babe, a YEAR babe, a year, you only called me BABE once that year, ITS BEEN A YEAR BABE I loved you I lived you I try not to think of how hard I fell for you I try not think of how deeply I loved you I try not to think of you and I can't wait for the day I don't © 2022 Lydia WaldockAuthor's Note
