Written in wordsA Poem by Lydia WaldockIt kinda speaks for itself a non-returning love and the story behind it
I didn't see it before
The looming sense of state I carry with me. A softspoken cry sounding out loud to mix with the static fuzz of the telephone scream. In the distance I see her marble slab shoulders slouching to the aching weight of false fortitude. Her heaving sighs from lungs that were not mine. I didn't see how she fell in love with me before I noticed her dazed eyes. She left me with just a goodbye to ease my mind How wrong were we? The delicate softness of her bruised lips are always keeping me in a trance Had she always tasted this sweet? He was gold lace fasten tight around my broken wrist. Functional and beautiful but just not the right fit. I lost myself in his eyes once, just enough to break the surface of the ice I fell but I'm not sure which way because I had rose thorns growing up grapevine trees He stands with unforeseen wisdom behind brightly dull eyes Did I break in his arms? Or was I broken to be longed to have him fix me? Perfectionism as the ballerina dances along his gaze piercing the lines between us. Needed to be Wanted to be Just the "next" girl Soul shattering for him but deep inside he knows the idea of loving me is sweeter than the honey magic of the real me I stand in the distance my shoulders aching with the weight of living my life alone being the dismay of someone else Breathing clear as I try to stand my ground Had I not fed his ideas of me we wouldn't be entangled with these curses
