Henke Horror

Henke Horror

A Story by Jess Morgan
"

A short story I wrote a few years ago...would like to keep playing with it and someday expand.

"

Henke Horror lived in the sky,
with his mustard drenched cucumber tie.

Flying around with birds and with planes,
he soared above great big buildings,
and people,
and lanes.

He wished he was down there,
on land having fun..
He could play with the children,
and he'd laugh,
and he'd run.

He had heard that the people,
living on the dirt,
had many beautiful things,
like fancy cars,
and expensive shirts.

"Joy and laughter," thought Henke,
"must not be hard to find.
Everyone looks so friendly,
and so nice,
and so kind."

But then one day,
Henke spotted a man.
And that man was busy,
making an evil plan.

"Money," said the man,
"is just what I need.
Money makes me happy,
but furious with greed!"

The man looked around,
then covered his face.
"I'll steal from the bank!
I'll rob the place!"

Henke was shocked,
but soon felt at ease,
when he saw a nice lady
painting some trees.

She brushed on a line
with paint that was red,
Then yelled to her friend,
"This one, Ted!"

Ted walked up
bringing his ax.
He chopped at the tree,
till it fell in his tracks.

"Why are they ruining
their wonderful home!?
"There is so much to do there,
and so far to roam!"

Henke was puzzled.
He couldn't believe what he saw!
He blinked a few times,
then picked up his jaw.

"Maybe I'll stay,"
he thought in his head,
Then yawned a big yawn
and fell back on his bed.

Henke watched those below

And spotted a girl

She was dancing around

Bouncing a few hops and a twirl

Henke knew he was meant for the sky,
where he could live and be free,
still Henke hoped others would move there,
"What a wonderful world it would be!"
