The Living Water

The Living Water

So we have deemed it H2O.
We watch it fall and make things grow.
When it's cold, it turns to snow.
With strides in Science think we know.
But do we?
It's more than just the elements,
arranged by bonds for fun of it
Funny how they can be split
We don't know the half of it!
Ions when electrolyzed,
Heavy when just-so combined.
Floating when it becomes ice.
Water is so magical.
How can simple elements
combine to make the most of it
binding living, growing things
falling free to earth as rain?

this is so cool....if my friend John had not retired from teaching chemistry...i would share this with him so that he could use it in his class...(provided you would have been okay with that)---

a perfect description of something we really take for granted...odd, too, since i body is mostly made up of it.
